Job Description
The Process Engineering Manager will lead a team focused on designing and developing FLiBe systems for fusion energy test loops, managing engineering projects, balancing resources, and ensuring safety and risk management in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team specializing in the design of FLiBe systems for high-temperature, chemically hazardous environments.
- Balance resource needs across multiple projects related to salt process design.
- Develop and grow a center of excellence in salt process engineering.
- Contribute to managing engineering and safety risks associated with salt process systems.
- Drive technical results to advance the readiness level of enabling technologies for fusion energy systems.
Requirements
- Experience as an engineering manager with the ability to balance resource needs across diverse projects and grow a center of excellence for salt process design.
- Proven experience leading a team specializing in the design of FLiBe systems or similar high-temperature, chemical hazard environments involving new materials.
- Strong practice of carrying engineering risk where appropriate while attentively and aggressively managing safety risk, actively contributing to a safety-conscious culture.
- Ability to lead and grow a team within a growing organization, including managing resource allocation and project priorities.
- Experience working in environments with high temperatures, chemical hazards, and novel materials, particularly related to salt process systems or similar extreme environments.
- Demonstrated capability to develop and implement salt process design solutions for FLiBe systems or comparable technologies.
- Compliance with U.S. laws concerning the export of controlled or protected technologies or information, including the ability to adhere to Export Control Laws.
