A Contract Electrical Technician at Commonwealth Fusion Systems will support the installation, testing, validation, and commissioning of power electronics systems and DC battery storage for fusion power prototypes, working closely with engineering teams in a fast-paced, on-site environment.
Key Responsibilities
Receive, install, configure, test, validate, and support commissioning of power electronics-based converter systems and DC battery storage systems.
Implement tasks within the power electronics team and support cross-functional teams with technical needs.
Develop, assemble, and operate new test platforms for system testing.
Report test results and data to design engineers.
Requirements
Experience in receipt, installation, configuration, testing, validation, and commissioning support of power electronics-based converter systems and DC battery storage systems at a large scale.
Ability to work under the direction of the Lead Electrical Test Technician and support cross-functional teams with technical and tactical needs.
Experience in the development, assembly, and operation of new test platforms for power electronics systems.
Ability to report test results and data accurately to design responsible engineers.
On-site availability at Devens, MA for system installation and commissioning, and at Somerville, MA for advanced development prototype testing.
Compliance with U.S. laws concerning the export of controlled or protected technologies or information (Export Control Laws).
