Job Description
A Principal Mechanical Engineer responsible for designing and implementing advanced research and development equipment and complex machinery for fusion energy technology, collaborating across engineering teams to ensure safety, reliability, and high performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement advanced R&D equipment and complex machinery
- Collaborate across engineering and technology functions to ensure equipment safety, reliability, and high performance
- Mentor team members and solve complex design problems
Requirements
- The candidate must have strong technical expertise in mechanical engineering related to the design and implementation of advanced R D equipment and complex machinery.
- The candidate must have procedural discipline in engineering practices.
- The candidate must have the ability to collaborate across engineering and technology functions to ensure safe, reliable, and high-performance equipment.
- The candidate must enjoy working on complex design problems, mentoring others, and solving problems in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
- The candidate must be willing to work onsite at Commonwealth Fusion Systems facilities.
- The candidate must comply with U.S. laws concerning the export of controlled or protected technologies or information, known as Export Control Laws, as a condition of employment.
