A Metrology Engineer is responsible for developing, validating, and implementing inspection methods for complex hardware, working closely with various engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure high performance and reliability of components supporting fusion energy projects.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, validate, and deploy inspection methods for highly engineered hardware.
Work hands-on with complex parts and advanced measurement systems.
Partner with Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Design Engineering, Quality, and R&D to ensure hardware meets performance and reliability standards.
Define inspection strategy and tooling.
Document measurement methods and present inspection results.
Continuously improve metrology processes to support production and engineering teams.
Requirements
Develop, validate, and deploy inspection methods for highly engineered hardware supporting the SPARC project.
Work hands-on with complex parts and advanced measurement systems.
Partner closely with Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Design Engineering, Quality, and R&D teams to ensure hardware meets demanding performance and reliability requirements.
Solve ambiguous measurement problems and communicate clearly across disciplines.
Build repeatable processes that scale for metrology support in production and engineering teams.
Take ownership from defining inspection strategy and tooling to documenting methods and presenting results.
Continuously improve how metrology supports production and engineering teams.
Possess a minimum of 3 years of experience in metrology, measurement systems, or related engineering fields.
Have a bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field.
Be able to work onsite in a fast-paced environment and comply with U.S. export control laws concerning controlled or protected technologies or information.
Benefits & Perks
Salary range of $103,000 - $166,000 including 15 shift differential
Work schedule Monday through Friday, 11:00 pm - 7:30 am
