A Metrology Engineer at Commonwealth Fusion Systems is responsible for developing, validating, and implementing inspection methods for complex hardware, collaborating across multiple teams to ensure high performance and reliability of fusion energy components.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, validate, and deploy inspection methods for highly engineered hardware
Work hands-on with complex parts and advanced measurement systems
Partner with Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Design Engineering, Quality, and R&D to ensure hardware meets performance and reliability requirements
Define inspection strategy and tooling
Document measurement methods and present results
Continuously improve metrology processes to support production and engineering teams
Requirements
Develop, validate, and deploy inspection methods for highly engineered hardware supporting the SPARC project.
Work hands-on with complex parts and advanced measurement systems.
Partner closely with Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Design Engineering, Quality, and R D teams to ensure hardware meets demanding performance and reliability requirements.
Define inspection strategy and tooling for metrology processes.
Document measurement methods and procedures clearly and accurately.
Present measurement results to relevant stakeholders.
Continuously improve how metrology supports production and engineering teams.
Take ownership of the metrology process from strategy development to implementation and documentation.
