Job Description
A hands-on Manufacturing Engineer responsible for overseeing weekend manufacturing operations of high-temperature superconducting magnets in a first-of-a-kind environment, ensuring safe and efficient production while developing standardized processes for novel challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and ensure safe and efficient production of high-temperature superconducting magnets during weekend shifts.
- Serve as the technical lead for the 5th Shift, managing operations when the weekday engineering team is offline.
- Develop and implement standardized, repeatable processes to address novel problems in a first-of-a-kind manufacturing environment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to manufacturing processes and equipment.
- Coordinate with engineering and production teams to maintain continuous manufacturing operations.
Requirements
- The candidate must be a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer capable of leading weekend operations and acting as the technical anchor for the 5th Shift, ensuring the safe and efficient production of high-temperature superconducting magnets when the weekday engineering team is offline.
- The candidate must have experience working in a First-of-a-Kind (FOAK) manufacturing environment where the product is being designed while the machine is being built, and be able to turn novel problems into standardized, repeatable processes.
- The candidate must be available to work the schedule of Friday through Monday, with shifts from 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm on Friday and Monday, and from 6:00 pm to 6:30 am on Saturday and Sunday, totaling 10-hour shifts.
- The candidate must have a minimum of 15% shift differential included in the salary range, with a salary range of $104,000 to $167,000.
- The candidate must be willing to work onsite at Commonwealth Fusion Systems facilities.
- The candidate must comply with U.S. laws concerning the export of controlled or protected technologies or information, and any employment offer will be contingent upon compliance with Export Control Laws.
