A hands-on Manufacturing Engineer responsible for leading weekend manufacturing operations of high-temperature superconducting magnets in a fast-paced, first-of-a-kind environment, ensuring safety, efficiency, and the development of scalable, repeatable processes.
Key Responsibilities
Lead weekend manufacturing operations for high-temperature superconducting magnets.
Ensure safe and efficient production during the 4th shift when weekday engineering is offline.
Set and maintain focus, engagement, and high performance of technicians on the weekend team.
Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve first-time challenges to develop standardized, repeatable processes.
Make sound technical decisions under pressure in a fast-paced, First-of-a-Kind manufacturing environment.
Bring order to the manufacturing process by turning novel problems into scalable solutions.
Requirements
Experience as a Manufacturing Engineer or in a similar manufacturing role with a hands-on approach.
Ability to lead and coordinate weekend manufacturing operations, specifically for a shift from Friday through Sunday, 6:00 am - 6:00 pm.
Proven capability to be the technical anchor for a manufacturing shift, ensuring safe and efficient production processes.
Experience working in a First-of-a-Kind (FOAK) manufacturing environment, with the ability to turn first-time challenges into standardized, repeatable processes.
Strong decision-making skills under pressure and the ability to bring clarity to ambiguity in a fast-moving environment.
Ability to lead technicians and keep them focused, engaged, and operating at a high level during the shift.
Experience in designing and building products simultaneously, with the ability to bring order to complex, novel problems.
Knowledge of high-temperature superconducting magnet production or similar advanced manufacturing processes is preferred.
Onsite work capability at Commonwealth Fusion Systems' facility in a fast-paced environment.
Compliance with U.S. export control laws concerning the export of controlled or protected technologies or information, with any employment offer contingent on such compliance.
Benefits & Perks
Salary range of $100,000 - $160,000 including a 10 shift differential
Work schedule from Friday to Sunday, 6:00 am - 6:00 pm
