The Manager NDT Radiation Safety Officer oversees non-destructive testing operations and radiation safety at Commonwealth Fusion Systems, managing inspection activities and ensuring personnel safety for fusion energy projects.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain NDT capabilities to support SPARC delivery and future scaling for ARC power plants
Execute all NDT inspections, including UT UTPA, RT CR DR, ET, PT, MT, and VT
Manage the NDT technician team
Serve as the industrial Radiation Safety Officer for all RT activities onsite at Devens
Interface with corporate EHS Radiation Safety, project managers, vendors, manufacturing, construction, and tokamak assembly to schedule and assign personnel based on credentials
Requirements
Experience in developing and maintaining NDT capabilities to ensure successful delivery of SPARC and future scaling for ARC power plants.
Proven track record of successfully executing all NDT inspections, including Ultrasonic Testing (UT), UTPA, Radiographic Testing (RT), Computed Radiography (CR), Digital Radiography (DR), Eddy Current Testing (ET), Penetrant Testing (PT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), and Visual Testing (VT).
Experience managing a team of NDT technicians and overseeing their work.
Experience serving as an industrial Radiation Safety Officer for all radiography activities onsite at Devens.
Ability to interface directly with corporate EHS Radiation Safety, project managers, design teams, vendors, manufacturing, construction, and tokamak assembly to ensure personnel are scheduled and assigned to jobs as per their credentials.
Compliance with U.S. laws concerning the export of controlled or protected technologies or information (Export Control Laws).
