Job Description
The Manager of Controls Engineering leads the development and implementation of automated manufacturing systems for high-temperature superconducting magnets, overseeing the full lifecycle from design to operations, and ensuring technical excellence and high-quality results in a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the development and success of automated manufacturing systems for high-temperature superconducting magnets.
- Translate technical strategies into actionable plans and guide the team through the full lifecycle of custom machinery, from design and procurement to commissioning and operations.
- Drive technical excellence and ensure high-quality results in a fast-paced, ambitious production environment.
Requirements
- Experience leading controls engineering teams responsible for automated manufacturing systems, specifically for high-temperature superconducting magnets.
- Ability to translate technical strategy into actionable plans and guide a team through the full lifecycle of custom machinery, including design, procurement, commissioning, and sustaining operations.
- Proven track record of cascading vision, driving technical excellence, and ensuring delivery of high-quality results in an ambitious production environment.
- Hands-on leadership skills with the ability to remove obstacles and guide team members effectively.
- Experience working in fast-paced manufacturing environments with a focus on delivering complex technical projects.
- Knowledge of controls engineering principles, automation systems, and manufacturing process optimization.
- Ability to ensure compliance with U.S. export control laws concerning controlled or protected technologies or information.
