A hands-on Manufacturing Engineer responsible for leading weekend manufacturing operations of high-temperature superconducting magnets in a fast-paced, first-of-a-kind environment, ensuring safety, efficiency, and process standardization during off-peak hours.
Key Responsibilities
Lead weekend manufacturing operations for high-temperature superconducting magnets.
Ensure safe and efficient production during the 4th shift when the weekday engineering team is offline.
Develop and implement standardized, repeatable processes for first-time challenges in a FOAK environment.
Maintain team focus, engagement, and high performance among technicians during weekend shifts.
Make sound decisions under pressure and provide technical leadership in a fast-paced, innovative manufacturing setting.
Requirements
Experience as a Manufacturing Engineer or in a similar manufacturing role with a focus on high-precision, high-technology environments.
Ability to lead and coordinate weekend manufacturing operations, specifically for the 4th Shift, ensuring safe and efficient production of high-temperature superconducting magnets.
Proven ability to lead through influence, make sound decisions under pressure, and bring clarity to ambiguity in a fast-moving, First-of-a-Kind (FOAK) manufacturing environment.
Experience in turning first-time challenges into scalable, repeatable processes and standardizing procedures in a manufacturing setting.
Strong technical skills to serve as the technical anchor for weekend operations, including keeping technicians focused, engaged, and operating at a high level.
Demonstrated capability to bring order to a First-of-a-Kind FOAK manufacturing environment, including designing and building products simultaneously.
Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment driven by innovation and novel problems.
Availability to work the scheduled shift from Friday 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, Saturday and Sunday 6:00 am to 6:30 pm, and Monday 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, with the flexibility to manage the schedule as specified.
Educational background or equivalent experience in engineering, manufacturing, or a related technical field.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality control, and safety protocols relevant to high-precision magnet production.
Compliance with U.S. export control laws concerning the export of controlled or protected technologies or information, with employment contingent on such compliance.
Benefits & Perks
Salary range of $100,000 - $160,000 including a 10 shift differential
Work schedule with three consecutive days off (Tuesday and Thursday) and weekend shifts
