The Measurement Automation Engineer will develop, test, and implement data acquisition and control systems for fusion research components, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure reliable data collection and support critical project milestones.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, test, and deliver data acquisition systems, control hardware, software suites, and instrumentation for research and production testing.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to produce instrumentation and control systems that generate reliable data.
Organize and lead a cohesive instrumentation and control program for research and development activities.
Mentor and provide technical guidance to instrumentation and control engineers and test engineers.
Work across manufacturing, R&D, procurement, software, and project teams to achieve instrumentation and control objectives.
Requirements
Experience in developing, testing, and delivering data acquisition systems, control hardware, software suites, and associated instrumentation for research and development purposes.
Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams of engineers and technicians to produce instrumentation and control systems that generate reliable data in support of critical company missions.
Experience organizing and driving a cohesive instrumentation and control program for research and development activities.
Ability to serve as a technical mentor for instrumentation and control engineers and test engineers on the team.
Experience working across manufacturing, research and development, procurement, software, and specific project teams (such as SPARC teams) to achieve instrumentation and control system goals.
Proficiency in designing and implementing instrumentation and control systems used during integration, development, qualification, and production testing of magnets and critical components.
Strong understanding of control hardware, data acquisition systems, and associated instrumentation used in high-precision experimental environments.
Experience working in fast-paced environments driven by values of integrity, execution, impact, and self-critique.
Ability to work on-site at Commonwealth Fusion Systems facilities.
Compliance with U.S. export control laws concerning the export of controlled or protected technologies or information, with employment contingent upon such compliance.
