Job Description
The General Manager, SPARC Plant will lead the operation and management of the SPARC fusion facility, ensuring its success by maximizing uptime, fostering scientific learning, and building a high-performing team to demonstrate the viability of commercial fusion energy.
Key Responsibilities
- Run and oversee the operations of the SPARC facility to ensure its success
- Maximize facility uptime and scientific learning
- Build and lead a world-class team that operates the SPARC facility
- Shape and foster a culture of excellence and innovation within the facility
Requirements
- Experience in running or managing a facility, with a focus on maximizing facility uptime and scientific learning.
- Ability to build and lead a world-class team that operates the SPARC facility.
- Proven leadership skills to shape a culture of excellence and innovation within a scientific or technical environment.
- Demonstrated experience in leading complex, first-of-a-kind or innovative projects or facilities, preferably in energy, scientific research, or related fields.
- Strong understanding of operational management, including safety, compliance, and efficiency in a high-tech or scientific setting.
- Ability to ensure compliance with U.S. laws concerning the export of controlled or protected technologies or information, specifically Export Control Laws.
- Willingness to report to the CEO and operate in a fast-paced environment driven by core values of integrity, execution, impact, and self-critique.
