Job Description

The Director of Project Development will lead the planning, permitting, and site development efforts to deliver the world's first grid-scale commercial fusion power plants, working closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure timely and successful project execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic plans to deliver grid-scale commercial fusion power plants by the early 2030s.
  • Manage all aspects of project schedules, including securing permits and approvals for construction.
  • Work with internal teams, third-party consultants, engineers, and legal advisors to overcome obstacles and ensure project success.
  • Establish a pipeline of viable sites for future fusion power plant development.
  • Build positive public support at local and regional levels for project sites.

Requirements

  • Experience in developing and implementing strategic plans to deliver fusion power plants or similar large-scale energy projects to the grid by the early 2030s.
  • Proven ability to manage all aspects of project schedules, including securing all permits and approvals required to begin construction on schedule and within budget.
  • Experience working closely with internal teams, third-party consultants, engineers, lawyers, and allies to overcome obstacles and ensure positive project outcomes.
  • Ability to establish a predictable pipeline of viable sites for future development of fusion or energy projects, including securing positive public support at the local and regional levels.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing the development and delivery of power plants or comparable infrastructure projects.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory, permitting, and approval processes related to large-scale energy or infrastructure projects.
  • Experience working in fast-paced environments and adhering to compliance requirements, including U.S. Export Control Laws concerning the export of controlled or protected technologies or information.
  • Possession of relevant educational background, such as a degree in engineering, project management, or a related field (implied but not explicitly stated in the posting).
