Job Description

The Director of Project Development will lead the planning, permitting, and site development efforts to deliver the world's first grid-scale commercial fusion power plants, working closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure timely and successful project execution.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement strategic plans to deliver grid-scale commercial fusion power plants by the early 2030s.
Manage all aspects of project schedules, including securing permits and approvals for construction.
Work with internal teams, third-party consultants, engineers, and legal advisors to overcome obstacles and ensure project success.
Establish a pipeline of viable sites for future fusion power plant development.
Build positive public support at local and regional levels for project sites.

Requirements

Experience in developing and implementing strategic plans to deliver fusion power plants or similar large-scale energy projects to the grid by the early 2030s.
Proven ability to manage all aspects of project schedules, including securing all permits and approvals required to begin construction on schedule and within budget.
Experience working closely with internal teams, third-party consultants, engineers, lawyers, and allies to overcome obstacles and ensure positive project outcomes.
Ability to establish a predictable pipeline of viable sites for future development of fusion or energy projects, including securing positive public support at the local and regional levels.
Demonstrated experience in managing the development and delivery of power plants or comparable infrastructure projects.
Strong understanding of regulatory, permitting, and approval processes related to large-scale energy or infrastructure projects.
Experience working in fast-paced environments and adhering to compliance requirements, including U.S. Export Control Laws concerning the export of controlled or protected technologies or information.
Possession of relevant educational background, such as a degree in engineering, project management, or a related field (implied but not explicitly stated in the posting).
