The Director of Radiation Protection is responsible for leading and developing the company's comprehensive radiation safety program, promoting a strong safety culture, and ensuring regulatory compliance within a fast-paced fusion energy organization.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and develop the comprehensive Radiation Protection program.
Serve as the Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) ensuring regulatory compliance.
Establish and promote a strong safety culture across the organization.
Collaborate with EHSS leadership and departments to implement proactive safety measures.
Provide strategic direction for radiation safety initiatives and long-term program success.
Requirements
Experience in developing and implementing comprehensive Radiation Protection programs with overall leadership, strategic direction, and long-term success responsibilities.
Ability to champion a strong safety culture throughout the organization and work with leaders across Environmental Health, Safety, and Security (EHSS) and all departments to develop and implement a holistic and proactive approach to safety.
Serves as the Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) with the authority and responsibility for radiation safety compliance and oversight.
Demonstrated leadership skills in a safety-critical environment, particularly related to radiation safety.
Knowledge of U.S. laws concerning the export of controlled or protected technologies or information, specifically Export Control Laws, and ability to ensure compliance with these laws.
Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment driven by values of integrity, execution, impact, and self-critique.
Willingness to work onsite at Commonwealth Fusion Systems facilities.
