This role involves overseeing the operation and maintenance of PV solar assets, ensuring high system availability, safety compliance, and effective troubleshooting of electrical and mechanical systems, while managing maintenance programs and coordinating with management and vendors.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor and enforce safe work practices for PV solar plants and BOP repairs
Maintain site availability and operational efficiency within contractual and budget constraints
Manage plant maintenance programs, including planning, scheduling, and preventive/predictive maintenance
Supervise troubleshooting and repairs of electrical and mechanical systems
Manage spare parts, maintenance supplies, and equipment inventories
Inspect completed repairs and scheduled maintenance for quality assurance
Maintain logs and records of operating conditions and report irregularities
Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations
Communicate with management and site personnel regarding operational and maintenance issues
Participate in contract negotiations with vendors and subcontractors
Develop and update manuals, work instructions, and standard procedures for site personnel and PV systems
Requirements
High school diploma or GED required
At least 3 years of experience in the operation of Commercial Solar plants or 5 years of equivalent experience in instrumentation controls, MV HV Electrical work
Qualified to perform all routine and emergency operations at an electric generation facility and HV Switchyard
Experience working with plant systems and computerized maintenance management systems such as SAP
Knowledge of complex analog and digital instrumentation and control systems, proper methods for troubleshooting, repairing, and adjusting instruments and control systems
Knowledge of proper and safe methods to clear equipment, safe use of tools, plant safety rules, reporting procedures and practices, maintenance procedures and practices, electrical and mechanical prints, and PV Solar plant terminology and nomenclature
Demonstrated ability to maintain PV solar sites at high availability
Proficiency in using MS Office software including spreadsheet and document applications
Understanding of general workplace safety and the ability to follow safety standards as well as help the company improve upon the standards in place
