The Construction Intern will support wind energy construction projects by assisting with site progress tracking, safety and quality assurance, schedule interpretation, cost control, and inventory management, gaining hands-on experience in project controls and construction operations.
Key Responsibilities
Track construction progress using spreadsheets, photos, and daily reports
Maintain safety standards and identify safety issues on site
Enforce quality assurance and quality control programs
Read and interpret construction schedules and advise on site progress
Support change order analysis, equipment and labor tracking, and cost control tasks
Read and interpret EPC and major supply contracts
Track inventory of critical parts and materials
Perform miscellaneous project controls functions
Requirements
Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Construction, Engineering, Management or a related field, and being a current junior or rising senior.
Ability to manage multiple tasks, set priorities, and exercise independent judgment.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
Possession of a valid driver’s license, a favorable Motor Vehicle Record, and the ability to safely operate a pickup truck.
Ability to communicate information clearly both verbally and in writing.
Fluent English language skills.
Intellectual curiosity and an interest in renewable energy.
Strong interpersonal skills, including willingness to ask questions, listen to colleagues, and contribute ideas.
Self-motivated, dependable, and accountable, demonstrating consistent attendance and eagerness to engage in work activities.
Ability to work independently, multitask, and take ownership over projects and assignments, including taking initiative.
Availability to participate in a 10-week summer internship program from June 1, 2026, to August 7, 2026.
Willingness to be based at the construction site in Mt. Storm, West Virginia, with periodic travel to a Clearway office location for training.
Understanding of safety programs, working safely within the program, and helping to maintain a safe site by identifying and addressing safety issues.
Understanding of the Quality Assurance and Quality Control program and ability to enforce it as requested by the Project Manager or Construction Site Manager.
Ability to read, understand, and interpret construction schedules and advise on site progress related to schedule durations.
Support for change order analysis, equipment and labor hour tracking, and other cost control tasks as requested by the Project Manager or Construction Site Manager.
Ability to read, understand, and interpret the EPC Contract and major supply contracts.
Tracking inventory of critical parts around a construction site, including owner-supplied materials and contractor materials.
