Job Description
The Senior Accountant at Charles River Associates is responsible for maintaining the accuracy of the general ledger, preparing financial statements, supporting budgeting and forecasting, and ensuring compliance with GAAP, while providing support for external audits and process improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger through journal entries, reconciliations, and account analysis
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual account reconciliations
- Support the preparation of internal financial statements and external filings such as 10-Qs, 10-Ks, and earnings releases
- Interpret financial statements in accordance with GAAP
- Update and maintain accounting policies and procedures
- Assist with general ledger close processes, including allocations, FX rates, and consolidations
- Coordinate with external auditors during quarterly reviews, annual audits, and SOX 404 audits
- Train and oversee staff accountants to ensure professional development
- Identify and implement process improvements and internal controls
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in accounting preferably in a corporate or public accounting environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Trustworthy with attention to maintaining confidentiality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team able to prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
- Familiarity with ERP systems such as Oracle and Workday.
- Previous experience working for a US publicly traded company preferred.
- Experience with SOX controls preferred.

Salary range: $92,500 - $100,000
Work schedule: 3 days in the office per week with specific days coordinated with team
