The position involves conducting research, analysis, and providing expert insights in transmission planning and market analysis within the energy sector, leading client engagements, and supporting public stakeholder interactions to drive strategic solutions for utility and energy industry clients.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct research and analyze data related to transmission planning and market analysis.
Provide technical expertise and lead engagements with utility clients on transmission planning and rate design.
Manage client projects from sourcing to delivery with minimal oversight.
Deliver presentations and reports to communicate complex findings to clients.
Serve as a thought leader in market analysis and transmission planning forums.
Support public stakeholder meetings and engage with senior executive management.
Develop new client relationships and identify opportunities for value-added products and services.
Mentor junior staff and oversee project teams to ensure successful project execution.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Economics, Engineering Management, or related fields.
Master's degree in a relevant field is preferred.
At least 10 years of professional experience in transmission market analysis.
At least 5 years of professional experience directly managing or leading the work of others.
Experience supporting public stakeholder meetings and company executive meetings.
Extensive experience managing project teams and clients.
Demonstrated success in selling client engagements and maintaining these relationships over time.
Experience developing, working with, and interpreting output from complex market and grid planning models.
Excellent presentation skills and writing ability.
Strong problem-solving abilities and resourcefulness.
Ability to work well in a team environment and willingness to provide mentorship and supervision to junior staff members.
