Job Description

The position involves designing, implementing, and maintaining network systems, troubleshooting network issues, ensuring security compliance, and collaborating with global IT teams to support the company's internal data communications infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, install, test, and maintain network infrastructure
  • Diagnose and resolve network issues
  • Document network implementations and changes
  • Maintain records and inventories of network equipment
  • Perform upgrades to network systems while minimizing downtime
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and training for network resource management and disaster recovery
  • Monitor and test network performance, providing reports and statistics
  • Coordinate with vendors and internal teams for network hardware installation and troubleshooting
  • Ensure network equipment is up-to-date and secure
  • Research and evaluate emerging network and communication technologies

Requirements

  • A 4-year degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
  • Certifications including CCNA and CCNP are highly desired.
  • Certifications including AWS Cloud Practitioner and Azure fundamentals are required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the secure operations of LAN, WAN, and campus environments.
  • Experience with planning, design, implementation, and troubleshooting of network systems.
  • Ability to assist with day-to-day operations and maintenance of network systems.
  • Ability to provide guidance with adherence to security initiatives.
  • Experience in designing, installing, testing, and maintaining network infrastructure including configurations supporting troubleshooting network issues.
  • Ability to document all implementations and changes, and maintain records and inventories.
  • Experience carrying out upgrades while minimizing downtime.
  • Developing, implementing, and maintaining policies, procedures, and training plans for network resource administration, appropriate use, and disaster recovery.
  • Ensuring network equipment is kept up to date and secure.
  • Monitoring and testing network performance, and providing network performance statistics and reports.
  • Ability to coordinate with other teams within the IT department and across practices, including travel to other CRA offices.
  • Willingness to perform work off-hours in an approved maintenance window.
  • Practical knowledge of major network platforms, LAN, WAN, and wireless devices, especially Cisco.
  • Proficiency with fundamental network protocols and technologies such as Spanning Tree, DNS, OSPF, HSRP, LACP, SNMP, NTP, IPsec VPN, and QoS.
  • Experience with firewall policy creation and processing.
  • Experience with maintaining and updating network documentation using Microsoft Visio.
  • Ability to propose and communicate new innovations on existing network topology to enhance performance.
  • Familiarity with ITIL change management framework and ability to determine risk assessment prior to change implementation.
  • Experience working with Cisco Nexus datacenter switches, Palo Alto Firewalls, Cisco ISE, 802.1X, HPE SD-WAN, Kemp Load Balancers, Cisco Umbrella, and related technologies is preferred.
  • Fundamental knowledge of cloud platforms such as GCP, AWS, and Azure.
  • Experience working with SNMP solutions such as Whats Up Gold, SolarWinds, or PRTG.
  • Core understanding of PKI and 802.1X fundamentals.
  • Practical experience working with domain registration, certificates, and DNS.
  • Ability to travel to other offices and execute project plans with minimal oversight.

Salary range of $130,000 - $137,500 with potential for bonus incentive compensation
