The Consulting Associate at Charles River Associates is an entry-level role involving economic analysis, data research, and modeling to support high-profile competition law cases in Europe, working closely with senior experts and communicating complex concepts to clients.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct analyses and collect evidence from data and research to support expert opinions and business recommendations
Perform regression analyses using statistical analysis programs such as Stata, Python, or R, including large data projects with cloud computing
Build economic models tailored to specific issues to support expert opinions and recommendations
Assist in developing and presenting client deliverables, including expert reports and white papers
Interact with clients to communicate complex economic concepts clearly and accessibly
Ensure the accuracy and integrity of analyses and opinions
Participate in practice-building activities such as training, recruiting, and publication
Requirements
Possession of a Master of Economics degree from a well-regarded institution, with a strong foundation in microeconomics, preferably with a specialization in industrial economics and/or econometrics.
Fluency in English; proficiency in other languages is considered an asset.
At least 6 months of relevant work experience within economic consulting or with a competition authority.
High degree of numeracy with the ability to analyze data and familiarity with econometric techniques.
Ability to perform regression analyses in statistical analysis programs such as Stata, Python, or R, including large data projects requiring the use of cloud computing.
Ability to build economic models tailored to specific issues to support expert opinions and business recommendations.
Exceptional written and oral communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex economic concepts and arguments to non-experts in an understandable and accessible manner.

Excellent time management and task prioritization skills.
Demonstrated interest in economic consulting through coursework, work experience, or related activities.
