Job Description
A Software Backend Engineer responsible for supporting and maintaining Celonis's on-premise Process Mining application, facilitating its migration to the cloud, and enhancing software reliability and security using Java Spring Boot and related technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the full on-premises product lifecycle, including investigation, implementation, and delivery.
- Support and maintain the stability, security, and updates of the software.
- Increase the reliability of the software through continuous improvements.
- Assist customers in migrating from on-premises solutions to the cloud-based Celonis Platform.
- Automate development processes to improve efficiency.
- Support Level 3 customer issues by investigating and resolving complex problems.
- Mentor and grow team members while fostering an inclusive engineering culture.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- 3-6 years of hands-on software engineering experience.
- Hands-on experience in Java, Spring Boot, Hibernate frameworks.
- Experience supporting and maintaining enterprise software applications, including investigating, implementing, building, and delivering to customers.
- Ability to support on-premises customers in their path to migrating to the modern cloud-based Celonis Platform.
- Experience working on microservices-based distributed systems.
- Ability to navigate typical enterprise challenges such as security, compliance, scalability, and data consistency.
- Exhibit excellent programming skills and a strong ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
- Experience with Windows and Linux OS management, including standard tools, commands, services, permissions management, debugging and profiling tools, and reading application and system logs.
- Experience supporting and maintaining project stability and security, updating dependencies, and implementing new standards and protocols.
- Support and assist Level 3 Support for customers investigating and resolving complex problems.
- Ability to take ownership of the full on-premises product lifecycle, including investigating, implementing, building, and delivering to customers.
- Ability to support and improve development processes through automation.
- Ability to mentor and support teammates, set an example, and contribute to an inclusive engineering culture.
- Ability to work in geographically distributed work environments.
- Strong understanding of complex data structures and algorithms in data management.
- Exhibit excellent troubleshooting skills and a strong analytical mind.
