Job Description
A Senior Technical Program Manager at Celonis is responsible for leading cross-functional engineering programs related to APIs and AI, driving platform development, and enhancing developer experience through strategic planning, execution, and stakeholder collaboration within a fast-growing SaaS environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead multidisciplinary cross-functional engineering programs in API and AI
- Drive the execution of a multi-phase platform development program to enhance capabilities
- Implement and evolve a technical governance model to accelerate delivery and maintain standards
- Develop and manage Celonis API strategy, including defining API portfolio and governance framework
- Break down programs into workstreams and coordinate across teams to achieve strategic goals
- Contribute to engineering design documents, focusing on dependencies and translating PRDs into work packages
- Present and advocate technical concepts to engineering leadership and executive management
- Manage program risks, monitor progress, resolve issues, and ensure successful delivery
Requirements
- 8 years of experience in Technical Program Management within a SaaS software company
- Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience skillset
- A proven track record of successfully driving large-scale, cross-functional technical programs from inception to completion, especially those related to platform development, APIs, or developer-facing services
- Experience establishing and managing lightweight technical governance, standards, and best practices across multiple engineering teams
- Ability to derive status, key risks, and synthesize information, drive clarity, and accurately communicate program status, issues, dependencies, and risks to leadership and other program stakeholders beyond Product Engineering
- Ability to explain analyses and recommendations to executives, discussing technical trade-offs in product development with engineers
- Self-sufficient with an entrepreneurial spirit, able to operate in a fluid, ambiguous environment
- Experience designing plans to manage highly ambiguous programs in partnership with Senior Management
- Proactive approach to addressing risks, dependencies, trade-offs, escalation, or technical constraints for timely mitigation and resolution
- Ability to drive effective teamwork, communication, collaboration, and commitment across multiple teams with competing priorities
