Job Description
A senior finance professional responsible for overseeing technical accounting, financial reporting, and M&A activities within a fast-growing SaaS company, ensuring compliance with US GAAP and IFRS standards, and leading strategic initiatives in finance.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage US GAAP and external financial reporting requirements
- Support IFRS and statutory reporting as needed
- Identify, research, communicate, and resolve complex accounting issues
- Lead implementation of new accounting standards and maintain global accounting policies
- Monitor and communicate updates on accounting standards and assess their impact
- Lead or support M&A due diligence and integration of transactions
- Drive valuation exercises and ensure proper disclosures
- Support complex accounting areas such as equity investments, stock-based compensation, and hedge accounting
Requirements
- Successful candidates for this position will have the equivalent of 5 years of professional experience in public accounting or private industry with increasing levels of responsibility.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
- CPA certification.
- Experience with Big 4 public accounting firms.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.
- Expertise in technical accounting issues and accounting for complex transactions.
- Experience with M&A due diligence, valuations, and purchase accounting.
- Experience supporting IFRS and statutory reporting as needed.
- Ability to proactively identify, research, communicate, and resolve complex accounting matters.
- Experience leading or supporting cross-functional strategic initiatives ensuring accounting impacts are proactively addressed.
- Experience managing valuation exercises, including partnering with third-party valuation firms to ensure proper valuation and disclosures.
- Experience supporting complex areas including equity investments, stock-based compensation, and hedge accounting.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- Demonstrated history of solving multiple and complex operational and accounting challenges.
- Strong understanding of financial statement analysis and current knowledge of U.S. GAAP including areas of M&A, equity investments, financial reporting, and other technical accounting matters.
- Strong leadership skills with a record of leading meaningful initiatives across the organization.
- Excellent project management skills, including the ability to think end-to-end, manage long-term projects, and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work well independently and in a team environment.
- Attention to detail, organized, thorough, and committed to continuous improvement.
