Job Description
A Software Engineer responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining backend services and microservices, primarily using Java Spring Boot, with opportunities to contribute to frontend features and collaborate across teams to deliver scalable, reliable solutions in a SaaS environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain backend services using Java with Spring Boot
- Design microservices and integrate services
- Manage CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions and ArgoCD
- Deploy and operate applications on Kubernetes clusters
- Monitor and instrument services using Datadog, defining SLOs and SLIs
- Collaborate with Product, DevOps, and QA teams to deliver end-to-end solutions
- Conduct code reviews, promote best practices, and mentor junior developers
- Implement and maintain frontend features using Angular (occasionally)
Requirements
- At least 7 years of professional software engineering experience owning complex systems
- Strong Java Spring Boot expertise with RESTful APIs and microservices
- Familiarity with RabbitMQ or Kafka message brokers, or similar systems
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and GitOps ArgoCD
- Experience deploying and managing applications on Kubernetes clusters
- Ability to develop backend services in Java with Spring Boot and maintain and enhance existing systems
- Experience collaborating on microservice design and service integrations
- Ability to author, manage, and optimize CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions and ArgoCD
- Experience instrumenting and monitoring services with Datadog, defining SLOs and SLIs
- Willingness to participate in on-call rotations during standard business hours (Monday to Friday)
- Ability to partner with Product, DevOps, and QA teams to deliver end-to-end solutions
- Experience conducting code reviews, promoting best practices, and mentoring junior developers
- Occasional ability to implement and maintain frontend features using Angular
- Excellent English communication skills
- Comfort with Scrum, Kanban, and Jira-based planning
