Job Description
A senior backend Java developer role focused on designing and implementing high-performance systems to manage big data, support process mining technologies, and contribute to the digital transformation of the company's platform within a collaborative and innovative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement high-performance backend systems to handle increasing request rates
- Process and analyze customer SQL queries to optimize data pipelines across backend query engines
- Promote best practices in database usage and system architecture
- Mentor and grow team members
- Write clean, testable, and understandable code
- Provide feedback on peer designs and code
- Manage individual project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables
- Document development procedures, concepts, and knowledge
- Build, launch, and maintain features in production
Requirements
- BS in Computer Science or related field; Masters or Ph.D. preferred
- At least 5 years of hands-on software engineering experience
- Experience with SQL processing, query planning and optimization or query engine internals
- Ability to design and implement critical high-performance systems to handle the ever-growing request rate on backend infrastructure
- Experience processing and analyzing customer SQLs to generate optimized data pipelines on different backend query engines
- Ability to evangelize best practices in database usage and end-to-end architecture
- Proven ability to set an example for and mentor teammates and grow the engineering team
- Experience writing clean, understandable, and testable code
- Ability to manage individual project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables
- Experience documenting development procedures, concepts, and knowledge
- Experience building, launching, and maintaining features in production

Base salary range: $146,000 - $178,000 USD
