Job Description
The Applied AI Value Engineer for the Japan Market is responsible for developing and implementing AI solutions tailored to Japanese enterprises, bridging advanced AI technologies with local business needs, and driving value through proof-of-concept projects, prototyping, and customer engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Understand the AI strategies and challenges of Japanese customers and translate requirements into solutions.
- Prototype AI solutions, including building agent-based prototypes during customer hackathons.
- Enable autonomous AI process transformation for customers using the Celonis PI Platform.
- Execute end-to-end Proof-of-Value projects, ensuring compliance with enterprise data and identity frameworks.
- Collaborate closely with Japan-based account teams and executives to ensure project success and adoption.
- Specialize in specific domains such as Supply Chain and Finance to scale knowledge across organizations.
Requirements
- Strong willingness and commitment to work specifically for the Japan market, including flexibility to align with Japan Standard Time (JST) for key meetings and workshops.
- 3-5 years of professional experience in technical pre-sales, defining AI roadmaps, and building ROI TCO business cases.
- Deep understanding of Generative AI techniques such as RAG, multi-agent orchestration, prompt engineering, and experience with Python, LangChain, pandas, PyTorch, etc.
- Understanding of business processes in domains such as Supply Chain and Finance, and the ability to translate high-level needs into AI use cases.
- Strong presentation skills to engage with both internal stakeholders and external Japanese enterprise executives.
- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field required; Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Math preferred.
- Proven experience building agentic systems and deploying models at scale across major cloud platforms such as AWS Bedrock, Azure AI, or GCP Vertex.
- Working knowledge of the LLM ecosystem, including packages like LangChain, LlamaIndex, or other open-source software.
- Experience executing end-to-end Proof-of-Value (PoV) projects, including architecture, RAG, and guardrails, ensuring compliance with enterprise data and identity frameworks.
- Ability to prototype solutions rapidly, including LLM agent-based prototypes, during customer hackathons.
- Experience in solutioning AI strategies tailored to Japanese customers and translating their requirements into innovative solutions.
- Experience working with Japanese companies as clients or partners is highly valued (preferred but not mandatory).
- Familiarity with Japanese business etiquette and communication styles (preferred but not mandatory).
