The Ubuntu Pro Sales Engineer role involves engaging with enterprise customers to promote and implement Ubuntu Pro and related open source solutions, providing technical expertise, demonstrations, and customer support throughout the sales process to drive adoption and address technical challenges.
Key Responsibilities
Facilitate and drive the adoption of Ubuntu Pro in enterprise customers
Collect customer business requirements and advise on open source solutions
Identify customer challenges with open source and demonstrate how Ubuntu Pro can address them
Deliver presentations and demonstrations of Ubuntu Pro to clients
Provide feedback to product teams to influence product roadmap
Collaborate with sales team to achieve sales targets
Travel internationally for events and customer meetings
Requirements
Demonstrated practical knowledge of Linux, virtualisation, containers and networking
Business-minded technology thinker and problem solver
Knowledge of cloud computing concepts such as Kubernetes, AWS, Azure, GCP
Intermediate level Python programming skills
Professional written and spoken English with excellent presentation skills
Experience with Linux Debian or Ubuntu preferred
Ability to travel internationally, for company events up to two weeks long, and customer or industry meetings
