Job Description
The Threat Intelligence Lead is responsible for developing and executing Canonical's threat intelligence strategy, analyzing cyber threats targeting the company's open source products, and collaborating with internal teams and the wider cybersecurity community to enhance security measures and establish thought leadership in open source threat intelligence.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and execute Canonical's threat intelligence strategy
- Build and maintain OSINT research environments and develop tradecraft
- Identify, track, and analyze targeted cyber threats and adversary campaigns
- Collaborate with internal teams and the wider cybersecurity community to share intelligence and establish thought leadership
- Advise product and engineering teams on cybersecurity threats and mitigation strategies
- Implement and update security controls in coordination with security teams
- Identify intelligence gaps and propose new research tools and projects
- Conduct briefings for executives, stakeholders, and external customers
Requirements
- An experienced threat intelligence leader or similar with knowledge of current open source threat landscape and computer networking infrastructure concepts.
- Highly competent with OSINT tools such as Buscador, Trace Labs OSINT VM, OSINT Framework, Maltego, Shodan, social media scraping tools, etc.
- Ability to identify, organise, catalogue, and track adversary tradecraft trends often with incomplete data.
- Experience using threat intelligence data to influence enterprise architecture or product development decisions.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate and tailor technical content to a variety of audiences.
- Ability to travel twice a year, for company events up to two weeks long.
- Degree qualified, with a bachelor’s degree in computer science, information security, or a related field.
- Certifications in related areas such as GOSI, SANS SEC487, SEC587, IntelTechniques OSIP, etc.
- Experience in a tech company or government military signal intelligence departments.
