Job Description
This role involves leading the effort to adapt and certify Ubuntu for use in highly regulated, mission-critical industries such as automotive, aerospace, and industrial robotics by establishing engineering excellence, compliance standards, and collaborative practices across teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead efforts to adapt Ubuntu for use in highly regulated environments such as automotive, aerospace, and industrial robotics.
- Transform complex regulatory, compliance, and certification demands into concrete engineering outcomes and best practices.
- Challenge and influence engineering culture across teams to adopt and internalize engineering excellence and open-source values.
- Collaborate with engineering leadership to define and implement continuous improvement processes and quality standards.
- Establish methods for measuring and improving engineering quality and culture.
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with external standards groups, committees, and industry partners.
- Contribute to defining and delivering the company's vision for open-source software in mission-critical sectors.
Requirements
- Strong experience in engineering and process management in an agile environment
- Knowledge or certification of standards addressing quality of software artifacts such as ISO IEC 25010 or ASPICE
- Proven track record of developing and growing people and teams
- Experience leading successful compliance and certification efforts, including understanding the process and stakeholders management required
- Experience with Linux
- Background as a software developer (preferred but not mandatory)
- Experience in establishing product engineering development metrics and KPIs
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
