This role involves leading the effort to adapt and certify Ubuntu for use in highly regulated, mission-critical industries such as automotive, aerospace, and industrial robotics by establishing engineering excellence, compliance standards, and collaborative practices across teams.
Key Responsibilities
Lead efforts to adapt Ubuntu for use in highly regulated environments such as automotive, aerospace, and industrial robotics.
Transform complex regulatory, compliance, and certification demands into concrete engineering outcomes and best practices.
Challenge and influence engineering culture across teams to adopt and internalize engineering excellence and open-source values.
Collaborate with engineering leadership to define and implement continuous improvement processes and quality standards.
Establish methods for measuring and improving engineering quality and culture.
Build and maintain strategic relationships with external standards groups, committees, and industry partners.
Contribute to defining and delivering the company's vision for open-source software in mission-critical sectors.
Requirements
Strong experience in engineering and process management in an agile environment
Knowledge or certification of standards addressing quality of software artifacts such as ISO IEC 25010 or ASPICE
Proven track record of developing and growing people and teams
Experience leading successful compliance and certification efforts, including understanding the process and stakeholders management required
Experience with Linux
Background as a software developer (preferred but not mandatory)
Experience in establishing product engineering development metrics and KPIs
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
