Key Responsibilities
Build and maintain scalable, high-quality container images
Develop and improve automated CI/CD processes for container image lifecycle
Write tools and tests to assess security compliance and cloud-native compatibility
Participate in code and architectural reviews to ensure engineering quality
Contribute to open-source container-building tools and projects
Engage with the open-source community as a subject-matter expert
Mentor junior team members and support team growth
Collaborate with internal and external teams to ensure container image quality and usability
Requirements
Experience in building robust, scalable, leading-edge container images.
Experience working on automated CI/CD processes for building, testing, and publishing container images.
Ability to write tools and tests for assessing security compliance and cloud-native compatibility.
Participation in strong engineering processes through code and architectural review.
Contribution to the improvement of Python- and Go-based container-building tools, both as a user and developer.
Ability to provide technical feedback for the team’s decision-making process.
Engagement with the open-source community as a subject-matter expert.
Ability to grow the team’s knowledge base and write documentation.
Experience working in a collaborative, agile, and globally distributed environment.
Mentoring and helping with hiring within the team.
Work from home with the ability to travel up to 15 days per year for internal and external events.
Knowledge and passion for software development.
Experience in collaborative development as a team player.
Experience working with CI/CD systems such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Concourse CI, etc.
Familiarity with GitOps principles and workflows.
Track record of delivering timely, high-quality software.
Experience building container images.
Proficiency with at least one container management orchestration tool such as Docker or Kubernetes.
Experience with Python programming language.
Experience with Linux systems administration and package management.
Strong written and verbal communication skills to convey technical concepts.
Ability to bring clarity to technical and engineering discussions.
Belief in sharing knowledge and collaborative learning.
Skills ranging from those of a Graduate to a mid-senior Software Engineer.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, STEM, or a similar field.
