A software architect role focused on designing and evolving Canonical's LXD container and virtual machine orchestration platform, as well as MicroCloud infrastructure, involving leadership in distributed systems, virtualization, networking, and storage technologies within a remote, global team.

Drive the architecture, design, and evolution of LXD and MicroCloud products
Mentor, develop, and advise engineering colleagues
Develop software in Golang and C
Review code produced by team members
Ensure product security and performance
Provide technical leadership within Canonical and the community
Requirements
An exceptional academic track record from both high school and university.
An undergraduate degree in Computer Science or STEM fields.
Experience in technical leadership as well as team motivation, direction, and pace.
Well-organized, self-starting, and able to deliver to schedule.
Professional manner in interacting with colleagues, partners, and community.
Experience with Go (Golang) and C programming languages.
Experience with storage, networking, and virtualization technologies.
Experience with container technologies.
Experience with concurrent, distributed systems.
Conscientiousness and detail orientation, with a focus on performance.
Professional written and spoken English language skills.
Experience with Linux Debian or Ubuntu preferred.
