Job Description

A Senior Growth Engineer at Canonical is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining marketing technology infrastructure, data pipelines, and automation systems to support marketing and sales growth initiatives, leveraging advanced data and web technologies in a remote, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain core data infrastructure and martech stack to support marketing and sales goals
  • Develop and optimize data pipelines, automations, and integrations between CRM, marketing platforms, and data warehouse
  • Architect and manage APIs for system integration and data flow across the stack
  • Collaborate with marketing, sales, and product teams to understand needs and develop technical solutions
  • Implement and uphold software engineering best practices including clean code, CI/CD, automated testing, and version control
  • Explore and integrate new tools to enhance data capabilities and operational efficiency
  • Support marketing team with strategic automation and AI initiatives to improve lead management

Requirements

  • Experience in designing, building, and maintaining core data infrastructure and martech stack to support marketing and sales goals.
  • Proficiency in developing and optimizing robust data pipelines, automations, and integrations between CRM, marketing platforms, and data warehouse.
  • Ability to architect and manage APIs for seamless system integration and data flow across the entire stack.
  • Experience collaborating with marketing, sales, and product teams to understand their needs and architect technical solutions.
  • Knowledge of and experience implementing software engineering best practices, including clean code, CI/CD, automated testing, and version control.
  • Experience exploring and integrating cutting-edge tools to enhance data capabilities and operational efficiency.
  • Ability to support marketing team members with strategic expertise, including setting up and monitoring automations.
  • Experience building automation and AI solutions to improve lead management.
  • Proficiency in system design with a strong understanding of networking, proxies, and data ingress egress patterns in the data domain.
  • Proficiency with cloud data warehousing solutions such as BigQuery, relational databases like Postgres, and object stores like S3.
  • Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and data stores like Redis is a plus.
  • Deep knowledge of API architecture and design, with a primary focus on REST; experience with GraphQL is beneficial.
  • Senior-level knowledge of Python, including object-oriented programming, APIs, asyncio, scientific libraries, and SQL experience with tools like Trino and dbt.
  • Understanding of web application backend-frontend processes, with working knowledge of JavaScript; experience with React is a nice-to-have.
  • Commitment to writing clean, maintainable code, with experience in CI/CD, automated testing, and version control using Git.
  • A curious and collaborative problem-solver with a growth mindset and a keen interest in the commercial domains of marketing and sales.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and aptitude for forging trusting relationships across diverse, cross-functional teams.
