Job Description
The Regional HR Manager for EMEA at Canonical is responsible for leading and scaling the regional HR team, ensuring compliant and efficient HR operations, advising senior management, and driving initiatives related to talent development, employee engagement, diversity, and organizational growth within a remote-first, global technology company.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and scale the regional HR team in EMEA
- Provide compliant and accurate HR operations across the region
- Partner with senior leadership on HR issues throughout the employee lifecycle
- Manage processes such as talent development, performance assessments, onboarding, and engagement initiatives
- Advise and coach managers on employee relations and performance management
- Support training and development programs for employees
- Drive diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives
- Design and implement HR policies and global HR projects
- Present HR practices at company events
- Utilize data to inform HR decisions and interpret trends
Requirements
- Exceptional academic track record from both high school and university
- HR experience leading initiatives across regions within a technology business
- People management experience
- Experience in business partnering with senior stakeholders
- Hands-on involvement in the daily HR routines
- Experience in working in a remote first organization
- Ability to leverage data to make informed decisions
- Knowledge and practical implementation of HR practices and employment law across EMEA
- Experience in handling and overseeing complex employee relations (ER) matters across multiple jurisdictions
- Fluent in business English written and spoken
- Self motivated, organized, accurate, confident, authentic, results-orientated, open-minded, enthusiastic and energetic
- Willingness to travel up to 4 times a year for internal events
