Job Description
A product management role focused on leading the development and strategy of Canonical's cloud native products, including Juju, identity management, and observability, to drive open source software solutions for enterprise-scale deployment and operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the lifecycle management and strategic development of cloud native products such as Juju, identity management, and observability.
- Collaborate with engineering, design, marketing, and sales teams to align on priorities and ensure successful product delivery.
- Conduct market research, analyze industry trends, and gather customer feedback to identify opportunities and inform product strategy.
- Oversee product development processes by reviewing priorities and goals in coordination with engineering leads.
- Develop and mentor teams through coaching, training, and establishing KPIs for project tracking.
- Drive execution excellence through continuous feedback and process improvements.
- Contribute to sales success by reviewing customer feedback and participating in customer meetings.
- Define and communicate the commercial strategy and marketing leadership for cloud native operations products.
Requirements
- Seasoned product management experience in technical domains related to the usage and or the management of open source software in the cloud native landscape.
- Experience designing or managing software operations for large scale distributed systems.
- Good understanding of cloud native technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker containers.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the common enterprise security and compliance requirements in the area of software operations.
- Proven ability to lead technical teams and drive their execution to excellence.
- Willingness to travel up to 4 times a year for internal events.
- Excellent communications skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Experience with developing or managing open source software products, particularly in cloud native environments, is required.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams such as engineering, design, marketing, and sales to address challenges and align on priorities.
- Ability to develop team through coaching, mentoring, and training.
- Ability to establish KPIs for project status reporting and communicate it across the organization.
- Ability to drive execution excellence through continuous feedback and improvement.
- Experience conducting market research, analyzing industry trends, and gathering customer feedback to identify opportunities.
- Demonstrated leadership in technical teams and product lifecycle management.
- Knowledge of enterprise security and compliance standards relevant to software operations.
