Job Description

A product management role focused on leading the development and strategy of Canonical's cloud native products, including Juju, identity management, and observability, to drive open source software adoption and innovation in enterprise and cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the lifecycle management of cloud native products, including setting priorities and goals.
  • Collaborate with engineering, design, marketing, and sales teams to align on product development and market strategies.
  • Conduct market research, analyze industry trends, and gather customer feedback to identify opportunities.
  • Develop and mentor teams to ensure high performance and continuous improvement.
  • Establish KPIs for project tracking and communicate progress across teams.
  • Drive product execution excellence through feedback and process improvements.
  • Contribute to sales success by reviewing customer feedback and participating in customer meetings.
  • Define strategies for identity management and observability within product offerings.
  • Oversee the development of technical solutions related to open source software management in cloud native environments.

Requirements

  • Seasoned product management experience in technical domains related to the usage and or the management of open source software in the cloud native landscape.
  • Experience designing or managing software operations for large scale distributed systems.
  • Good understanding of cloud native technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker containers.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the common enterprise security and compliance requirements in the area of software operations.
  • Proven ability to lead technical teams and drive their execution to excellence.
  • Willingness to travel up to 4 times a year for internal events.
  • Excellent communications skills in English, both verbal and written.
  • Experience with market research, analyzing industry trends, and gathering customer feedback to identify opportunities.
  • Ability to develop and review product priorities, goals, and lifecycle management.
  • Ability to work closely with engineering leads to oversee product development processes.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams such as engineering, design, marketing, and sales.
  • Ability to establish KPIs for project status reporting and communicate it across teams.
  • Experience driving execution excellence through continuous feedback and improvement.
  • Ability to contribute to the development of strategies to create and maintain high performing teams.
  • Experience contributing to the success of sales teams by reviewing customer feedback and participating in customer meetings.
