Job Description
This role involves working across the Linux stack to optimize Ubuntu for various hardware platforms, collaborating with partners to deliver high-quality Linux experiences on IoT, desktop, and server systems, and contributing to the development and integration of open source software in a globally distributed, remote team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement Ubuntu integration for IoT, desktop, and server hardware platforms and software stacks
- Collaborate with partners to deliver optimized Ubuntu experiences on their platforms
- Lead technical engagements involving system architectures from cloud to edge
- Assist partners in integrating applications, SDKs, building device OS images, and optimizing applications with Ubuntu Core, Desktop, and Server
- Work with advanced operating systems and application technologies in enterprise environments
Requirements
- The candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, STEM or similar field.
- The candidate must have experience with Linux packaging systems including Debian, RPM, and Yocto.
- The candidate must have experience working with open source communities and licenses.
- The candidate must have experience working with programming languages Python, C, and C++.
- The candidate must be able to work in a globally distributed team through self-discipline and self-motivation.
