Job Description
The IoT Solutions Architecture Manager leads a regional team of Field engineers in presales and professional services, helping customers design and deliver secure connected device solutions using Ubuntu OS and embedded Linux technologies. The role involves technical leadership, customer engagement, team development, and strategic collaboration in a remote, distributed work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a team of Field engineers in Presales and Professional Services
- Solve customer problems by promoting technologies and acting as a trusted advisor
- Coach, mentor, and provide career development feedback to team members
- Plan and manage progress on goals and projects
- Represent the team and product to stakeholders, partners, and customers
- Develop and evangelize engineering and organizational practices
- Collaborate with leadership and other teams to achieve strategic objectives
Requirements
- Location in one of the three specified Geos (Americas, EMEA, or APAC) to manage a team spanning multiple time zones, as this is a remote role.
- Lead and develop a team of Field engineers, ranging from graduate to senior, in the areas of Presales and Professional Services.
- Solve customer problems by promoting our technologies and being a trusted advisor.
- Manage a small team effectively, demonstrating experience in team management.
- Experience with customer engagements, including understanding customer needs and providing technical solutions.
- Proficiency in Linux, with extensive experience in embedded Linux, Yocto, Debian, or Ubuntu.
- Fluency in at least one of the following programming languages: Golang, Python, C, C++, or Rust.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- Exceptional academic track record from both high school and university.
- Ability to communicate the business benefits of technology effectively.
- Professional written and spoken English skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, curiosity, flexibility, and accountability.
- Result-oriented with a personal drive to meet commitments.
- Ability to manage a small team and oversee team progress.
- Ability to represent the team and product to stakeholders, partners, and customers.
- Experience with disciplined engineering processes.
- Ability to plan and manage progress on goals and projects.
- Ability to develop and evangelize engineering and organizational practices.
- Ability to work remotely in a single major time zone.
- Other desirable traits include RTOS experience, additional programming languages, and experience working in a remote-first, diverse, distributed company.
