Job Description
This role involves leading and managing a globally distributed engineering team focused on developing and maintaining Ceph-based software-defined storage solutions, with an emphasis on technical excellence, team growth, and innovative use of open source technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a globally distributed team building a Ceph-focused software-defined storage solution.
- Develop team members through coaching, mentoring, and feedback.
- Contribute to technical goals by directly participating in software development and architecture.
- Establish and manage project schedules, expectations, and feedback loops.
- Promote modern, agile software development practices and a culture of quality and engineering excellence.
- Collaborate with other leadership team members and stakeholders to align on strategy and execution.
Requirements
- Technical leadership experience and a background in software engineering are necessary prerequisites for this role.
- Experience in leading, managing, coaching, and mentoring software developers towards delivering timely, high quality software.
- Experience operating scale out storage clusters on Linux in production environments, preferably with Ceph.
- A software engineering background, preferably with Python and C experience.
- Solid experience working in an agile development environment.
