Job Description
This role involves working across the Linux stack to optimize Ubuntu for the latest hardware platforms, collaborating with partners and customers to deliver high-quality, integrated solutions for IoT and server environments, and contributing to the development and deployment of open-source software in a remote, globally distributed team.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement Ubuntu integration for the latest IoT and server hardware platforms
- Collaborate with partners to deliver optimized Ubuntu experiences on their platforms
- Lead technical efforts on complex customer engagements involving system architectures from cloud to edge
- Assist customers in integrating applications, SDKs, building device OS images, and optimizing applications with Ubuntu Core, Desktop, and Server
- Work with advanced operating systems and enterprise application technologies
Requirements
- The candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, STEM or similar.
- The candidate must have experience with Linux packaging systems including Debian, RPM, and Yocto.
- The candidate must have experience working with open source communities and licenses.
- The candidate must have experience working with C and C++ programming languages.
- The candidate must be able to work in a globally distributed team through self-discipline and self-motivation.
