A leadership role overseeing a team of embedded Linux field engineers, focusing on presales and professional services to help customers design and deliver secure connected device solutions using Ubuntu OS and open source technologies.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and develop a team of Field engineers in Presales and Professional Services
Solve customer problems by promoting technologies and acting as a trusted advisor
Coach, mentor, and provide career development feedback to team members
Implement disciplined engineering processes and measure team health indicators
Represent the team and product to stakeholders, partners, and customers
Develop and evangelize engineering and organizational practices
Plan and manage progress on goals and projects
Collaborate with leadership as part of the leadership team
Requirements
Location: Must be located in one of the three Geos (Americas, EMEA, or APAC) to manage a team that spans few timezones within that region.
Educational Background: Exceptional academic track record from both high school and university, with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
Experience in Embedded Linux: Extensive experience with embedded Linux, including Yocto or other embedded Linux build systems.
Linux Operating System Experience: Extensive experience with Linux distributions, with a preference for Debian or Ubuntu.
Programming Skills: Fluency in at least one of the following programming languages: Golang, Python, C, C++, or Rust.
Team Management: Ability to manage a small team of engineers, ranging from graduate to senior levels.
Customer Engagement: Experience with customer engagements, solving customer problems, and acting as a trusted advisor.
Communication Skills: Professional written and spoken English skills.
Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills, curiosity, flexibility, and accountability.
Result Orientation: Result-oriented with a personal drive to meet commitments.
Business Communication: Ability to communicate the business benefits of technology.
Learning Ability: A humble learner and quick study.
Additional Technical Skills (Desirable): RTOS experience, additional programming languages, and human languages.
