Job Description
A Field Engineer role focused on embedded Linux solutions, involving customer engagement, technical solution development, and support for IoT and mission-critical devices across various industries, with an emphasis on Linux expertise, coding skills, and remote work flexibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage with customers during presales to gather requirements and explain technology solutions
- Elaborate and propose embedded Linux solutions to prospective clients
- Participate in the delivery of select projects related to Embedded Linux
- Convey market requirements to internal stakeholders and contribute to solution development
- Act as a customer advocate and trusted advisor to Canonical
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field
- Extensive Linux experience, with a preference for Debian or Ubuntu
- Solid embedded Linux experience, including familiarity with Yocto, Buildroot, or RTOS
- Fluency in at least one of the following programming languages: Golang, Python, C, C++, or Rust
- Professional written and spoken English language skills
- Ability to communicate and present effectively
- Result-oriented mindset with the ability to multi-task
- Personal drive to meet commitments
- Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time for customer meetings, company events, and conferences
- For positions in Japan and Korea, ability to speak and write the local language at a professional level
- Experience with low-level Linux boot, BIOS, firmware, and embedded software development methodologies
