Job Description
A leadership role within Canonical's Talent Science team, responsible for driving strategic talent selection projects, developing processes, coaching team members, and collaborating with senior leadership to ensure high-performance hiring outcomes using data-driven and analytical approaches.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver the strategic Talent Science project roadmap, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Design and implement solutions to complex talent selection problems to ensure high-performance hiring outcomes.
- Develop and maintain processes and frameworks for talent selection aligned with career frameworks and desired outcomes.
- Coach and mentor team members to enhance their analytical skills and thought leadership capabilities.
- Act as a credible adviser and leader in the absence of the Head of Talent Science, representing the team to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with company leaders to communicate and align on the vision for talent at Canonical.
- Utilize data and analytical tools to drive evidence-based decisions in talent acquisition and selection.
Requirements
- An undergraduate degree in a psychology or people based subject.
- Experience of working with career frameworks and hiring outcomes.
- Proven ability to lead and deliver multiple strategic Talent Science projects using exceptional project management and influencing skills.
- Experience of designing and implementing solutions to complex problems that ensure the hiring of exceptional talent.
- Ability to ensure all talent selection initiatives map to high performance outcomes and career frameworks.
- Experience of coaching and mentoring team members to develop analytical capabilities and thought leadership, including developing training materials and documentation.
- Deep understanding of selection, career frameworks, and building internal products to match talent selection criteria with desired outcomes.
- Advanced analytical ability to dissect and analyze data using SQL, Python, and/or statistical analysis.
- Exceptional written and spoken English with strong presentation skills suitable for a senior audience.
- Ability to travel internationally up to 4 times a year for company events.
