This role involves leading and managing a team of cloud solutions engineers to design, deploy, and support open source cloud solutions for customers across various industries, while also participating in technical presales and fostering team development in a remote, global environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and develop a team of cloud solutions engineers across various cloud technologies and open source solutions.
Manage team performance, provide coaching, mentorship, and career development guidance.
Participate in technical presales activities by providing expert advice and solutions to customers.
Design, deploy, test, and hand over cloud solutions such as OpenStack, Kubernetes, Ceph, and other open source platforms.
Represent the team and products to stakeholders, partners, and customers.
Plan, track, and ensure timely delivery of engineering projects and goals.
Collaborate with other teams and leadership to align engineering efforts and roadmaps.
Requirements
Lead and develop a team of engineers, ranging from graduate to senior, and provide coaching, mentoring, and career development feedback.
Represent your team and product to stakeholders, partners, and customers, and actively participate in technical presales to help achieve quarterly goals.
Develop engineering talent and drive collaboration with other teams and customers.
Manage a team remotely within a single major time zone, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality results.
Implement disciplined engineering processes and plan and manage progress on agreed goals and projects.
Participate as an active member of the leadership team, collaborating with other leaders.
Possess knowledge of cloud computing concepts and technologies, such as Kubernetes, Openstack, AWS, GCP, Azure, Ceph, etc.
Have practical knowledge of Linux and networking.
Have experience in technical presales.
Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
Show passion and a track record of developing and growing people.
Have experience in leading, coaching, and mentoring engineers.
Be organized and able to ensure your team delivers timely, high-quality results.
Hold an exceptional academic track record from high school and preferably from university.
Be willing to travel up to 25% of the time, attending internal company events, external tech events, and customer meetings.
