Job Description
This role involves leading and managing a team of cloud solutions engineers to design, deploy, and support open source cloud solutions for customers, while also participating in technical presales and fostering team development in a remote, global environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a team of engineers across various experience levels
- Coach, mentor, and provide career development guidance to team members
- Design and deploy private and public cloud solutions using technologies like Openstack, Kubernetes, Ceph, and others
- Participate in technical presales activities by providing expert advice and solutions
- Manage project progress, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality results
- Represent the team and products to stakeholders, partners, and customers
- Implement disciplined engineering processes and measure team health indicators
- Collaborate with other teams and leadership to align on engineering roadmaps and organizational practices
Requirements
- Lead and develop a team of engineers, ranging from graduate to senior, and provide coaching, mentoring, and career development feedback.
- Identify and measure team health indicators and implement disciplined engineering processes.
- Represent the team and product to stakeholders, partners, and customers.
- Plan and manage progress on agreed goals and projects.
- Participate actively in technical presales to help achieve departmental quarterly goals.
- Have knowledge of cloud computing concepts and technologies, such as Kubernetes, Openstack, AWS, GCP, Azure, Ceph, etc.
- Possess practical knowledge of Linux and networking.
- Have experience in technical presales activities.
- Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Show passion and a track record of developing and growing engineering talent.
- Have experience in leading, coaching, and mentoring engineers.
- Be organized and able to ensure the team delivers timely, high-quality results.
- Have an exceptional academic track record from high school and preferably university.
- Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time, attending internal company events, external tech events, and customer meetings.
