Job Description
This internship involves structural analysis, design, and documentation for various construction projects under the supervision of licensed engineers, with opportunities to gain site experience and potentially transition into a full-time role in civil or structural engineering.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform structural analysis and design of new and existing structural systems.
- Prepare technical documents and reports from concept to detailed design.
- Assist in reviewing and marking up shop drawing submittals.
- Visit job sites to verify existing conditions and observe construction progress.
Requirements
- Must be enrolled in and working toward a Master in Civil Engineering with Structural focus, Master in Structural Engineering or Master of Architectural Engineering Structural focus from an ABET accredited program.
- Coursework in building systems engineering required.
- Concrete and steel design experience or coursework is required.
- Masonry and wood design experience is a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience in computer applications for engineering design programs such as Revit and RAM preferred.
