Job Description
The position is a Senior Construction Administration role responsible for leading and managing construction projects, particularly large healthcare facilities, ensuring quality, risk mitigation, cost control, and effective communication among project teams and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate construction administration efforts for large projects, including onsite supervision and team management.
- Administer construction contracts, including reviewing and interpreting documents, managing changes, and tracking progress.
- Identify, communicate, and mitigate project risks during construction.
- Facilitate communication between builders, clients, and design teams through meetings and reports.
- Review construction progress, quality, and safety compliance onsite.
- Manage Requests for Information (RFIs), submittals, and change proposals from contractors.
- Prepare and review project reports, site visit documentation, and certification of substantial completion.
- Support hiring and team development for construction administration personnel.
- Ensure adherence to project procedures, safety protocols, and firm policies.
Requirements
- Minimum of 12 years relevant experience in the construction administration required.
- Experience in institutional and/or commercial projects for at least the last 5 years required.
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction or related field required.
- Knowledge of building codes and requirements.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Technical knowledge, coordination skills and the ability to build a rapport with the project team is essential.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Bluebeam is required.
- Familiarity with the operation of construction management software Procore is required.
- Must have the ability to work onsite consistently at the project site in Rochester, MN, including travel as required.
- Adherence to CannonDesign and construction site safety program requirements and work rules.
- Work under the supervision of a Licensed Architect when required.
- Candidates must be able to perform physical presence at the project site in Rochester, MN, as required for the role.
