This role involves designing and managing plumbing, fire protection, and HVAC systems for various construction projects, including new builds and renovations, while coordinating with clients and project teams to ensure successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Design and direct plumbing and fire protection systems, including ductwork, piping, and equipment selection.
Assist with HVAC system design as needed.
Supervise or manage projects within the mechanical discipline, monitoring progress and budget.
Create Revit BIM models of construction drawings for plumbing, fire protection, and HVAC systems.
Edit specifications for existing or new projects.
Research technical issues and respond to emergent project needs.
Specify mechanical equipment such as boilers, chillers, and air handling units.
Review shop drawings for compliance with specifications and contract documents.
Interface with clients and project team members, attending meetings and managing project budgets.
Conduct site visits to verify conditions and observe construction progress.
Requirements
Bachelor or Master’s in Engineering required
Minimum of 6 years of related experience required
Experience on international projects is preferred
LEED accreditation preferred
Must possess a working knowledge and experience in mechanical systems design, while still acquiring higher level knowledge
Experience in computer applications for engineering design programs such as Revit, Trane Trace, or Trane 3D Plus required
Perform and direct design of ductwork, piping, and equipment selection for plumbing and fire protection systems independently on assigned projects
Assist with HVAC designs as necessary
Specify mechanical equipment such as boilers, chillers, and air handling units
Review shop drawings for compliance with specifications and contract documents
Conduct job site visits to verify existing conditions and observe construction progress
Attend and participate in construction meetings
Interface effectively with clients and members of the project team, including attending Owner, Architect, Construction Administration (OAC) meetings with an understanding and focus on the project budget
Respond to RFIs and review change orders in the preparation of construction documents
Coordinate work activities on specific projects with several persons with various levels of capability
Perform research as needed and respond to emergent issues
Prepare Revit BIM modeling of construction drawings of plumbing and fire protection systems from schematic design to construction administration phases, including layout, sketches, and detail drawings
Perform Revit BIM modeling for HVAC systems as necessary
Edit specifications relating to existing or new projects
Participate in business development and marketing activities
Complete mandatory training, including compliance training, within required timeframes and adhere to internal policies and the Code of Conduct
