The Project Designer IV at CannonDesign is responsible for leading and developing innovative architectural design solutions across multiple projects, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and mentoring emerging professionals to deliver sustainable and client-focused built environment solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Conceptualize and develop design solutions throughout all project phases.
Create innovative design concepts aligned with client culture and goals.
Translate shared design goals for team and client, supporting senior leaders.
Focus on schematic design and design development, guiding detailing and documentation.
Provide guidance on design intent during construction administration.
Prepare and lead client presentation materials, including visualizations.
Collaborate with interior designers and subject matter experts on holistic design.
Coordinate with technical leaders and engineers to integrate building systems.
Ensure design intent aligns across disciplines and incorporate sustainable strategies.
Mentor and develop emerging professionals within the team.
Requirements
Bachelor or Master degree in Architecture from an accredited program (required).
Minimum 8 years of related professional experience (required).
Strong verbal and written communication skills (required).
Technical knowledge of exterior and interior materials and building assemblies (required).
Must be a critical thinker and highly analytical (required).
Ability to coordinate multiple disciplines to achieve design intent (required).
Command of Revit, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office (required).
Experience with one or more real-time rendering and 3D rendering software such as Enscape, Twinmotion, and or V-Ray, as demonstrated through a portfolio of past and current visualization work (required).
Experience with digital media creation and editing in the Adobe Creative Cloud applications (required).
Knowledge of building codes and requirements (required).
Architectural Registration in the United States (preferred).
LEED accreditation (preferred).
Additional 3D modeling experience in Rhino or other comparable software (preferred).
Experience with computational design tools such as Grasshopper and Dynamo (preferred).
