Job Description
The Project Controls Specialist is responsible for providing analytical, financial, and management support for large, multi-office projects, including data analysis, budget and schedule management, reporting, contract oversight, and team collaboration to ensure project success and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and report on monthly project revenue, performance, and projection variances
- Develop profitability forecasts and review project staffing and schedules
- Review consultant contracts and invoices for accuracy and match to project budgets
- Manage project workload coordination and lead team activities in data analysis and reporting
- Facilitate development and management of work plans, budgets, and schedules with project managers
- Oversee timely and accurate project invoicing and collection of receivables
- Maintain financial records and prepare reports on project financial status
- Develop and maintain client relationships and communicate project status and payment decisions
- Generate reports and graphics summarizing schedule and cost information for high-level audiences
- Collaborate with team members to monitor work progress and implement best practices
- Understand contractual obligations and assist in ensuring project deliverables meet scope and terms
- Identify and communicate scope changes, obtain approvals, and influence client decisions
- Assist in drafting and shepherding contracts and exhibits through approval processes
- Perform schedule and time impact analyses as needed
- Maintain contractual records, reports, and documentation to meet contractual requirements
Requirements
- Minimum of 8 years related experience in project control activities, including progress tracking, data analysis, reporting, managing complex spreadsheets, and consolidating data from multiple sources.
- Associate's degree in Business, Construction Management, or a related field; a Bachelor's degree is preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and teamwork abilities.
- Must be a fully qualified professional able to perform work with a high degree of latitude, with some ambiguity in work.
- Proficiency in MS Office tools including MS Project.
- Experience with Procore or Primavera 6 is preferred.
- Strong familiarity with PowerBI.
- Deltek Vision experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of MS Scheduling applications is preferred but not required.
