Job Description
Assist in the design and modeling of plumbing, fire protection, and HVAC systems for various building projects under supervision, contributing to construction documents and site visits within a multidisciplinary engineering team.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform uncomplicated designs of piping, controls, and equipment selection for Plumbing Fire Protection systems under supervision
- Assist with HVAC system designs as needed
- Model plumbing, fire protection, and HVAC systems in Revit BIM from schematic design to construction phases
- Review submittals and shop drawings for compliance with contract documents
- Conduct site visits to verify existing conditions and observe construction progress
Requirements
- Bachelor or Master’s degree in Engineering required by hire date.
- Knowledge and ability to apply principles and theories of advanced heat transfer, solar energy, and advanced fluid dynamics in the design of plumbing, fire protection, and HVAC systems.
- Related student internship work experience preferred.
- EIT (Engineer in Training) or LEED accreditation preferred.
- Must have strong communication, teamwork, organizational skills, and the ability to handle multiple projects.
- Experience in computer applications for engineering design programs such as Revit, Trane Trace, or Trane 3D Plus preferred.
